From Late 2024 we have been working at Pye Motors new premises on Abbey Road, Barrow in Furness.

The main part of the work on site was based around the workshop area. When we first went on site the roof structure was made up of open web trusses – not ideal for putting lifts in and getting transit vans up in the air!

We forged a plan to exchange the open web trusses with steel portals to create the open space required. With a fair bit of head scratching from all involved, we think the final outcome has been a good one.

Another issue that arose was the original doorway wasn’t wide enough to allow vans/camper vans in safely. This was worked on, and we widened the doorway by as much as we could then lifted the roof to create a dormer style roof structure to allow for the higher vehicles.

Other works on site have been drainage works, block work on the new side wall, cladding and a large amount of new concrete in the workshop floor to name just a few.

We are really pleased with how it’s come out and it’s been a pleasure to work along side the Pye Motors Crew.
